2024, Studio Tolk, Забытые в Америке (Forgotten in America). A month before the November, 2024 General Elections, myself and two compatriots set out from my home in New Braunfels, Texas, across the Pineywoods, and into the deep swamps and forests of Mississippi and Louisiana. Along the way we interviewed die-hard Trump supporters, Black rights activists, the survivors of corporate terrorism and pollution-caused cancer, victims of constant natural disasters, and victims of a failing economy,to shed light on why so much of the rural South voted for and supported politicians and movements that betrayed them so readily.
2022, Haaretz, We Must Stay: The Ukrainian Jews Sheltering in a Historic Synagogue (non-paywall @ web.archive). At the outbreak of the invasion of Ukraine, I traveled to the nation my parents immigrated from to try to find my aunt and cousin, who had fled their hometown of Krivoy Rog. Along the way, myself and my travel partners connected with a synagogue in Lviv hosting Jewish refugees from across Ukraine. We interviewed, photographed, and wrote about their struggles with survival and identity for Haaretz.
2021, The Aggie Transcript, After Eureka Comes Death. A short history of how insulin became as expensive as it did, the repercussions of that on diabetic patients, and attempts to biohack insulin production in at-home garage labs.
2020, 7th Annual UC Davis OneHealth Symposium (Presented); 2021, University of California Global Health Conference (Accepted for presentation, declined due to schedule conflict), Price and Prejudice: The Utilitarian and Economic Dynamics Behind Why Some Animal-Rights Movements Grow Wings While Others Falter and Die. A comparative analysis between the animal rights movements to regulate the broiler chicken industry, and animal rights movements to regulate the foie gras industry.
2019, The Forward, J Street’s Birthright Replacement Trip To Israel Killed My Zionism. Exposed to the horrors of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank during a fact-finding trip, I documented the tragic stories of displacement and abuse I witnessed in the hearts of Israel and Palestine, and the subsequent reconfiguration of my entire philosophy on Israel's and Palestine's present and future.
